Operation Stitches: Kids Making Good Life Choices
“Dare to be a dreamer...
...Make good life choices”
They are two of the key messages from Operation Stitches to disadvantaged children living on Melbourne’s public housing estates.
A non-profit community organisation, operating from premises in Richmond, Operation Stitches was founded by Chris and Patrick Templeton in 1996. In the 19 years since, the Templetons, together with the support of an army of volunteers have encouraged many thousands of children to say ‘no’ to drugs, violence and crime; to choose who they run with; and to hold on to what is good.
Earlier this year Operation Stitches was recognised for its wonderful community work with a grant from the Tobin Brothers Foundation.
This video presentation salutes their amazing work and the many young people who through the ‘Stitches’ mentoring and home work programs, workshops and local community activities, are making the right choices.
