Testimonials

Below is a selection of testimonials sent to us from previous award recipients.

We thank the Tobin Brothers Foundation for the support of Western Chances.

We were thrilled to receive this donation resulting from the Dr Aubrey Moss Educational Trust Award in October 2022. Your support will help ensure we can continue supporting our young people to achieve their educational goals.

Many of our recipients, alumni and nominators express their gratitude for Western Chances’ support and we are very proud to share their progress and achievements. Below is a quote from one of our Alumni:

"I just want to say thank you. You've stood by me for 11 years and now I am so happy to be able to inform you that I did it. My dreams of becoming a doctor have become a reality. I've graduated in Doctor of Medicine and am now practicing in a hospital. I'll never forget not only the assistance by constant solid support and faith given to me by Western Chances. You give us all a chance. Thank you!"

We thank the Tobin Brothers Foundation for the support to the Cystic Fibrosis Community Care and provide you an update of the $4,807.50 that was so generously donated to us in December 2021 to support people with cystic fibrosis.

This generous grant was used to provide seven Innospire Go nebulisers and handsets, and four PariBoy Classic nebulisers to people in Victoria living with cystic fibrosis, who were experiencing financial hardship.

Notably, the grant also enhanced our collaborative working arrangement with hospital clinics throughout Victoria, to provide a seamless support network for patients. The grant allowed us to coordinate with clinical staff to identify those families experiencing financial hardship, and the subsequent purchase of a clinically approved and recommended nebuliser.

We thank you for your generous support of our work with children who are deaf or hard of hearing. The grant of $3500 received from the Tobin Brothers Foundation has gone towards the purchase of 1400 single-use electrodes to be used by our paediatric Audiology and Otology Clinic in order to perform audiology tests on infants at risk of hearing loss. Diagnostic hearing tests for newborns, in particular, are essential for arriving at an early diagnosis and commencing early intervention, which play a big part in improving outcomes for hearing-impaired children.

Thank you for helping us make a difference in breaking the cycle of drugs, violence and crime
that often overtakes these children as they grow up in such a dysfunctional negative environment.
It was evident from the awards presentation held on Thursday that the Tobin family and associates have
a genuine heart for the disadvantaged community and for the many smaller charities that are attempting to make a difference.
I know, like us, your award grants has encouraged many charities to press forward to achieve their goals.
